In the midst of my Japan adventure, I returned to London for an all important appointment. And no, I’m not getting married, it much more important than that. I had a date with the the UK Border Agency to renew my visa.
I know you can’t help but get as excited as me about this and I could hardly contain my joy at having to spend a day in Croydon to get my visa. There was also unexpectedly a Malaysian restaurant (Uncle Lim’s kitchen) to make things even more special. I was then told that I would need to wait for 2 weeks for my visa card to come. And what to do with all this free time? I got to try something I have always wanted to.
Be a tai tai.
For those of you that don’t know what this is, its being a housewife (or househusband) and spending time drinking tea, eating food, visiting museums and other culturally enriching activities. Now for those of you that don’t really know me, I work a desk job in the finance sector so apart for it making me fat, ugly, slow and any other negative attribute (I wasn’t born this way, work did it to me) it means I rarely have time for a special lunch during my time in London. Especially as my London office is based in the former swamp land and now shiny, sophisticated and cosmopolitan estate called Canary Wharf. In terms of its culinary delights, the former is a more apt description than the latter.
To make full use of my time on holiday in London, I visited several restaurants for lunch. The more interesting restaurants I visited included:
